Simply thinking about chocolate cookies makes me want to taste one. Or maybe not really taste one, but actually eat it, enjoy it; and yes, even more than one cookie. Because if you start to eat one, you'll only want more and more, they are so tasty. And I guess all chocolate lovers will agree to my point of view. What are chocolate cookies? In case anyone still wonders or in case there is someone in this wide world that still hasn't tasted the lovely dark chocolate inside those small, delicious cookies, we will explain they are drop cookies first made in the United States, having chocolate chips as the main ingredient. In the traditional recipe, the dough of the cookie is butter made, combined with brown and white sugar and with chocolate chips, which are not usually very sweet. But based on people's tastes, the recipe of the chocolate cookie has evolved and developed and today they can also contain nuts or oatmeal, or even different types of chocolate (I still prefer the dark, bitter chocolate, but there are chocolate cookies for every taste and you can find them in just any combination, or you can make one yourself, if you have a little bit of imagination).
The first chocolate cookie was invented in the 30's, but it was done accidentally, in Massachusetts, in the United States, when Ruth Wakefield, the owner of a home cooking restaurant came up wit this delicious combination to serve it as dessert to her clients. And it is still served today by people all over the world, and not only in restaurants, but also in stores. Chocolate cookies are now produced all over the world, based on different recipes, to satisfy the tastes of all people. In exchange of a lifetime chocolate supply for her dessert, Ruth sold the wonderful recipe to Nestle, who has adjusted it. Now, all commercial bakeries have their own recipes for chocolate cookies and they sell them in already packaged or ready- to- bake forms, to make life easier for house- wives. Chocolate chip cookies are sold in shopping malls and in retail locations, and there are some brands which only offer freshly baked cookies, to impress and attract customers.
To satisfy all potential clients, chocolate cookies can contain walnuts, vanilla extract, peanut butter, macadamia nuts, M&M or even white chocolate. How could someone resist them?
